WINEMAKER NOTES: The name is from there being blooming "strawberry trees", called "Albatro" around the vineyard which have strawberry like fruits that are called "Albatrelle". These fleshy and rough berries have a bright scarlet red color and represent the typical freshness, youth, and balance of a wine such as "Albatreto"
TASTING NOTES: Aromas include dark cherries, dark plums, blackberries, boysenberries, blueberries, and an interesting note of very fertile earth. Flavors include blackberries, dark cherries, and blueberries. There is a medium body but with deep palate penetration, good balance and acidity, and a long medium finish.
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Traditional Tuscan pastas such as pici and acquacotta, white meats and poultry in general, soft cheeses.
ABOUT THE WINERY: The Pierini & Brugi Biological Farm stands on the top of a hill, called “Belvedere” for its amazing 360° view on the wildest and most evocative place of the Tuscan Maremma. Surrounded by woods and Mediterranean scrub, the farm is halfway from the green and relaxing slopes of Monte Amiata and the gorgeous scenery offered by the Tyrrhenian coast.
