WINEMAKER NOTES: Exclusively sourced from the town of La Morra, this classic Barolo spends 12 months in oak barrels, 12 months in Slavonian oak casks, 6 months in concrete, and 6 months in bottle. It offers a compelling mix of early appeal with a classic sense of structure.
TASTING NOTES: Ruby red colour with brick-red highlights. The bouquet is fresh, with scents of nuts and leather. The palate is smooth with an elegant and persistent, sweet, traditional tannin.
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Roast goose, grilled steak, carne cruda, lamb, risotto, Gorgonzola cheese.
ABOUT THE WINERY: Bovio is a boutique wine estate located in the heart of the Barolo region, in La Morra, run by the third generation of the Bovio family. Originally only a very small operation whose wines were meant to be served in the family’s restaurant (still open today as Ristorante Bovio), they have now established themselves as one of the region’s reference-point wineries, exported around the world.
