VINTAGE REPORT:
The growing season began with a a tricky spring, bringing heavy rains,
gnarly frosts and fierce hailstorms, which significantly cut yields.
Summer arrived and brought a dry heat that accumulated in a
heatwave in August, which ran through to September.
The long sunny days helped push the grapes to phenolic ripeness
and removed any threat of rot or disease. Barbera was picked after
rejuvenating rains. Although yields were down compared to other years,
the quality is superb. The hot, dry conditions throughout the summer
had concentrated the fruit in both flavor and in tannin.
VINE AND VINEYARD:
The vineyard is exposed to the south.
It presents a medium-textured soil with limestone and clay.
REGIONAL CLIMATE:
The climate is continental and is designated by long cold, snowy winters and hot summers, with significant temperature
changes that allow Barbera to reach perfect acidity levels.

It carries a hint of balsamic notes and eucalyptus combined with the spiciness of black pepper, nutmeg and bay leaf.
The palate is fresh and velvety, with light silky tannins and a finish of licorice and spices.
Its body and freshness match perfectly with creamy appetizers, as well as, grilled meats and aged cheeses.
