The Grape:
Don’t let the translucent appearance and delicate aromas of Nebbiolo wine fool you. One sip, and you’ll discover that this is a bold, full-bodied red wine rich with tannins. Nebbiolo grapes are cultivated in Barolo and Barbaresco, located in
the Piedmont region of Italy. It is here that some of the world’s most celebrated wines are produced. With fewer tannins, Barbaresco is considered the more elegant of the two and easier to drink, especially when it’s young.
Winemaking:
All fruit sourced from the Gaja Principe vineyard located in the commune of Neive. 12-15 day maceration/fermentation with selected yeasts in 35 HL upright oak fermenters
Tasting Notes:
The quintessential Barbaresco, this wine is stacked with deep red fruits, savory herbs, and rose petals, all supported by a spine of dark minerality. On the palate you’ll find a taut but giving wine, with tannins that grip a bit before softening, ultimately giving way to a long, layered finish. Prime for drinking upon release, those with patience will be dually rewarded.page1image30290880 page1image30291072
