WINERY: iLauri
COUNTRY: Italy
REGION: Abbruzo
APPELLATION: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC
GRAPE: 100% Montepulciano

WINEMAKER NOTES: The name of this wine stems from the ancient form of construction typical in pastoral communities of Abruzzo.
The vineyard extends for 4 hectares at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level and is vinified separately in outstanding vintages in order to maintain its exceptional characteristics.

TASTING NOTES: A round, medium-bodied red, with delicate dried thyme and spiced orange peel accents to the creamed black cherry and mocha notes. Lightly juicy and smoke-tinged on the finish.

PAIRING SUGGESTIONS: Pair with lamb arrosticini, red meats, game, roast lamb, or aged sheep cheese.

ABOUT THE WINERY: With a shared love for the ancient beauty of Abruzzo, Antonella and Rodrigo Redmont planted roots in their homeland (literally) with olive trees, grapevines and a house back in 2004. Several years later they had their first vintage with their new winery, I Lauri. The name “I Lauri” stems from the laurel trees that once covered the hills in Loreto Aprutino. Located just 12 miles from the Adriatic Sea, this medieval town displays a picturesque balance between classical architecture and natural terrain
