A relatively new producer for Italy (first vintage was 2000), I Favati is dedicated to producing impeccable varietally correct wines from Campania's indigenous varietals. This beautiful rendition of Fiano di Avellino comes from a single 5-hectare vineyard at approximately 1,400 feet elevation on clay soils. The vinification is done all in stainless steel and lees contact is encouraged to enhance the wine's texture and aromatic complexity. Eric Guido, the newest addition to the stable of Vinous wine critics, recently wrote of I Favati, "These are some of the best quality-to-price ratio wines I've seen in a long time."
