Appellation: Romagna Sangiovese Superiore DOC
Grape Varietals: 100% Sangiovese
Color: Ruby red; intense color. Bouquet: an herbal scent with an edge of fresh fruity hints with a touch of cherries and raspberry tones. Flavor: fresh and tasty flavor consistent with the bouquet; light notes of a bitter fruity taste with a harmonious finish. No oak aging is required to show brilliant wild berry, tobacco, tart cherry, and black pepper and even some herbs as well. Serving suggestions: Best served between 14°C and 16°C (57-60° Fahrenheit).
Vineyard: around 300 – 340 meters in elevation, (1100 feet) Soil: Mostly calcareous limestone with sandy veins which comprises 30% of the composition. Over the soil is rich in minerals and sulfur. Pruning Style: Guayat; cane pruning for vigorous growing propensity. Viticulture: average age of productive vines is 5 years old. Plant density: 4500 plants per hectare. Nine hectares or a little over 22 acres.
Vinification: Fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, temperature-controlled tanks. The maceration (with the skins) is 28 days for the Sangiovese, allowing the malolactic fermentation. Harvested: second week of September, by hand. Aging Capacity: This process allows for 8 months in the stainless-steel tanks and a minimum of 12 months in bottle.
